Ali3N Studios LLC — Creating Tomorrow's Apps Today

Unmasked — Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026  |  Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Ali3N Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Unmasked mobile application (“App”). This policy supplements our general Ali3N Studios Privacy Policy.

Unmasked is a neurodivergent self-discovery tool. We take the privacy of your mental health data extremely seriously. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

1. Data We Collect

Authentication Data

The App uses Firebase Authentication. You may sign in with Google or continue as an anonymous guest. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique user ID. This data is used solely for account management and data synchronization across devices.

Assessment Data

When you complete assessments (AQ-10, RAADS-R, CAT-Q, ASRS-v1.1), your responses and scores are stored in Firebase Firestore under your user account. This data is used to display your results, generate AI interpretations, and populate your Clinician Report. Assessment data is never shared with third parties.

Self-Reported Tracking Data

The App allows you to log daily masking levels, energy levels, journal entries, and other self-reported data. This information is stored in Firebase Firestore and is used solely to provide you with personal insights, charts, and pattern analysis within the App.

Sensory Profile Data

Your sensory sensitivity ratings and trigger selections are stored in Firebase Firestore. This data is used to personalize your Regulation Toolkit recommendations and auto-populate your Clinician Report and Accommodation Letter.

Photos (Task Breakdown Feature)

When you use the Task Breakdown feature, photos you take or select are sent to our server proxy for AI analysis. Photos are processed transiently and are not stored permanently on our servers. Photos are transmitted securely and deleted after the AI generates your task plan. Photos are never shared with third parties beyond the AI processing service.

Custom Social Scripts

Social scripts you generate using AI are stored in Firebase Firestore under your account. You can delete individual scripts or all custom scripts at any time from within the App.

Reports and Letters

Clinician Reports and Accommodation Letters you create are stored in Firebase Firestore. PDF exports are generated locally on your device and shared only when you explicitly choose to do so via the Android share sheet.

Analytics & Crash Reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This helps us improve app stability and understand feature usage. No personally identifiable information or assessment data is included in analytics.

2. Third-Party AI Processing

Unmasked offers optional AI features that send your inputs to a third-party AI service. The following disclosure applies to every AI feature in the App.

Who receives your data

Your inputs are transmitted to Anthropic, the operator of the Claude AI model, via Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock, an AWS-hosted AI gateway. Requests are routed through our secure proxy server at api.ali3nstudios.com before reaching AWS Bedrock. Anthropic and AWS are independent third-party data processors.

What is sent

Only the inputs required for the AI feature you choose to use are transmitted. Specifically:

  • Assessment interpretations & profile synthesis — your assessment scores and per-question responses for the assessments you have completed (AQ-10, RAADS-R, CAT-Q, ASRS-v1.1)
  • Sensory profile summaries — your sensory category ratings (e.g. auditory, visual, tactile)
  • Weekly masking pattern insights — your masking and energy log entries for the relevant time window
  • Task breakdown plans — the photo you submit and the mode you select
  • Custom social scripts — the situation text you type

We do not transmit your name, email address, account identifier, location, device identifiers, contacts, or any data outside of the specific input for the feature you invoked.

How your data is used

Anthropic and AWS process your inputs solely to generate the AI response that is returned to you. Your inputs are not used to train Anthropic’s models, in accordance with Anthropic’s Commercial Terms of Service and AWS Bedrock’s terms. We do not retain your inputs on our proxy server after the AI response is returned. Anthropic and AWS may retain operational logs as described in their respective privacy policies (see the Anthropic Privacy Policy and the AWS Privacy Notice).

Your explicit consent

The first time you invoke any AI feature in Unmasked, the App displays an in-app consent screen that names Anthropic and AWS Bedrock, describes what data will be sent, and explains how that data will be used. No data is transmitted to the AI service unless and until you tap “Continue” on this consent screen. You may decline and continue using Unmasked without AI features — the assessments, journal, sensory profile, tools, and tracking all work without AI. You may revoke your consent at any time from Settings, after which the consent screen will be shown again before any future AI use.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect contacts or address book data
  • We do not collect health or fitness data from device sensors
  • We do not collect browsing history
  • We do not serve advertisements or collect advertising identifiers
  • We do not track users across other apps or websites
  • We do not sell any user data

4. Camera Permission

The App requests camera permission solely for the Task Breakdown feature, which allows you to photograph a space for AI-powered task planning. Camera permission is requested at runtime and can be denied without affecting any other feature. Photos taken for Task Breakdown are processed transiently and not stored.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit
  • AI requests are transmitted via HTTPS to our secure server proxy
  • PDF exports and profile card images are generated in your device’s local cache and are not uploaded anywhere
  • Journal entries can optionally be stored locally only (cloud sync is user-controlled)
  • Emergency contact phone numbers are stored in local SharedPreferences on your device only — they are never transmitted

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) via AWS Bedrock — receives only the inputs required for the AI feature you invoke (assessment responses, sensory ratings, masking logs, photos, or situation text). Sent only after you grant explicit consent. Not used to train AI models. See Section 2 for the full disclosure.
  • Firebase (Google) — authentication, data storage, analytics, and crash reporting
  • PulseLab API — provides focus audio streaming URLs. No personal data is sent.

We do not share data with data brokers, advertisers, or any other third parties.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data and assessment results are retained while your account is active
  • Photos submitted for Task Breakdown are deleted immediately after AI processing
  • Journal entries are retained until you delete them
  • Custom social scripts are retained until you delete them
  • Masking and energy logs are retained for trend analysis
  • You can reset all assessment data from Settings at any time
  • Signing out and deleting app data removes all local data

8. Children’s Privacy

Unmasked is designed for adults (18+) exploring neurodivergent self-discovery. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The App includes a disclaimer screen that must be accepted before use. If you believe a minor has used the App, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — all data is visible within the App
  • Delete your data — use Reset Assessments in Settings, delete journal entries individually, clear custom scripts, or sign out and clear app data
  • Export your data — Clinician Reports and Accommodation Letters can be exported as PDF; Profile Cards can be shared as images
  • Control sync — Journal cloud sync can be toggled on or off at any time

For data deletion requests beyond what the App provides, contact us at developer@ali3nstudios.com.

10. No Advertising

Unmasked does not display advertisements. We do not collect advertising identifiers. We do not participate in any advertising networks. Your mental health journey is not a monetization opportunity.

11. Third-Party Links

The Resources section contains links to external websites (crisis hotlines, organizations, books, communities). These sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
