Welcome to Show Me Your Kitties (“SMYK” or the “App”), operated by Ali3N Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App. Please also review our Privacy Policy.
1. The Name (Yes, We Know)
“Show Me Your Kitties” is a play on words. The App is for sharing photos of cats — exclusively. That’s the whole joke, and the whole point. Any content that is not a cat is off-topic and may be removed.
2. Who Can Use It
You must be at least 13 years old to use Show Me Your Kitties. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
3. Your Content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post (“your content”). By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, resize, display, and distribute your content within the App and its related services, solely to operate and promote the App. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already re-shared and for backups that age out of our systems.
You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to post it.
4. Content Rules
To keep this a friendly place for cat lovers, you agree not to post content that:
- Is not a cat (this is a cat app);
- Is sexually explicit, violent, gory, or otherwise obscene;
- Depicts animal cruelty, abuse, or neglect;
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or impersonates anyone;
- Is spam, a scam, or misleading;
- Infringes anyone’s intellectual property or privacy;
- Is illegal or promotes illegal activity.
We may remove content, hide it pending review, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules — with or without notice.
5. Moderation and Reporting
Every post can be reported. Reports are reviewed by our team. Content with multiple reports may be automatically hidden while we review it. We may also use automated tools to detect whether an image actually contains a cat and to screen for prohibited content. Decisions about removal are at our discretion.
6. Things You May Not Do
Don’t misuse the App — for example, don’t try to access other users’ accounts, scrape or harvest data, interfere with the service, upload malware, or get around our moderation, rate limits, or security.
7. Your Account and Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is a 7-day, reversible process: your account is hidden immediately, and if you change your mind you can sign back in within 7 days to restore it. After 7 days, your photos and data are permanently erased. See the Privacy Policy and Delete Your Account page for details.
8. The App Is Provided “As Is”
We work hard to keep the App running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be available or backed up.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ali3N Studios LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which, for a free app, is zero).
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know in the App. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Shelter and Rescue Accounts
These additional terms apply to organizations approved to list adoptable animals on Show Me Your Kitties. They are in addition to, not instead of, the Terms above. Where they conflict, this Section 11 controls for shelter accounts.
11.1 Eligibility and approval
Shelter accounts are available to animal shelters, rescue organizations, and similar groups that place animals for adoption. Applying does not guarantee approval. We may approve, decline, or revoke shelter status at our discretion, and we are not required to explain a decision.
By applying, you confirm that:
- You are authorized to act for the organization named in your application;
- The information you provide is accurate and current;
- Your organization places animals for adoption and is not primarily engaged in breeding or selling animals.
11.2 What “Verified Shelter” means — and does not mean
The “Verified Shelter” badge means only that we reviewed identifying information your organization supplied when applying.
It is not an endorsement. We do not inspect facilities, audit finances, review animal care practices, confirm charitable or tax-exempt status, or vouch for any organization. We make no representation about any shelter’s legitimacy, quality, practices, or the condition of any animal.
Adopters should carry out their own due diligence before adopting from any organization listed on SMYK.
11.3 Your listings, your animals, your process
You are solely responsible for the animals you list and the accuracy of every listing, including photographs, descriptions, health information, temperament, and availability.
You agree to:
- List only animals genuinely available for adoption through your organization;
- Keep listings current, and mark animals adopted or unavailable promptly;
- Not list animals you do not have the authority to place;
- Not use SMYK to sell animals, advertise breeding, or solicit anything other than adoption through your own process.
11.4 SMYK is informational only
SMYK is not a party to any adoption. We do not broker, arrange, screen, approve, facilitate, or participate in adoptions. We do not accept applications, collect fees, process payments, or hold funds of any kind.
Every adoption happens entirely between your organization and the adopter, under your own process and your own terms. Links on SMYK direct people to you; what happens after that is between you and them.
We are not responsible for any adoption, any animal, any dispute between you and an adopter, or anything arising from a listing — including injury, illness, misrepresentation, or an adoption that does not work out.
11.5 Content you provide
You keep ownership of the photographs, descriptions, and other content you post.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and resizing), display, and distribute that content in order to operate SMYK. This specifically includes:
- Displaying listings in the App;
- Automatically generating public web pages for your organization and each animal, which are publicly accessible and may be indexed by search engines;
- Generating shareable previews, printable materials, and QR codes linking to those pages;
- Displaying content to people who are not SMYK users.
You confirm you have the right to grant this license for everything you upload, including any photographs taken by volunteers, staff, fosters, or third parties.
This license continues for content you have posted while it remains on SMYK, and ends when the content is removed — except for copies retained in backups or where retention is required by law.
11.6 Moderation and removal
All content posted to SMYK, including shelter listings, is subject to automated and manual review.
We may reject, hide, edit, or remove any listing at any time, and we may revoke shelter status, with or without notice. Reasons include but are not limited to inaccurate information, content that violates these Terms, or conduct we judge inconsistent with the purpose of the platform.
Trusted-poster status, where granted, affects only how quickly listings are published. All content is reviewed regardless.
11.7 Public pages and search visibility
When you list animals on SMYK, we automatically generate publicly accessible web pages for your organization and each animal. These pages:
- Are visible to anyone, without a SMYK account;
- May be indexed by search engines;
- May be shared by you, by us, or by anyone else;
- May remain accessible after an animal is adopted, showing that outcome.
If you do not want your listings publicly visible on the web, do not use shelter features.
11.8 Communications
We will send you operational email about your account — approval decisions, activation, requests for information, and similar. You cannot opt out of these while you hold a shelter account.
We may also send a periodic summary of your listings’ activity. You can unsubscribe from that at any time without affecting operational email.
11.9 Your control, and ending your account
You can update, unpublish, or delete your listings at any time. You can ask us to remove your organization from SMYK, and we will do so within a reasonable period.
We may suspend or terminate a shelter account at any time. On termination, your listings will be removed from public view. Some information may be retained in backups or where required by law.
11.10 No fee, no obligation, no promise
Shelter accounts are free. We charge nothing, and we take nothing from any adoption.
We do not guarantee any level of visibility, traffic, inquiries, or adoptions. Any statistics we show you describe activity on SMYK — page views and link taps — and are not a measure of adoptions or of anything that happened after someone left our site.
We may change, limit, or discontinue shelter features at any time.
11.11 Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SMYK and Ali3N Studios LLC are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of shelter features, from any listing, or from any adoption.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ali3N Studios LLC against claims arising from your listings, your conduct, your organization’s adoption process, or any animal you place.
